Services for Students who are Blind or Visually Impaired

The Special Education Component for Services for Students who are Blind or Visually Impaired is designed to provide quality services which will maximize achievement of students age birth - 21 who are visually impaired. Through collaboration and coordination with state and community resources, Education Service Center Region 15 offers the following:

Consultative and support services to districts, teachers, students, and parents
Staff development and training based on current needs assessment
Orientation and mobility evaluation, consultative, and direct services
Guidance in the recruiting and training of highly qualified teachers of the visually impaired
