Title V
Title V of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) focuses on state innovation and local flexibility. It provides funding and support for programs that improve school choice, rural education, and innovative initiatives. The key components include:
- Part A – Grants for State and Local Innovation: Supports state and local educational agencies in developing innovative programs that improve student outcomes.
- Part C – Rural Education: Offers financial assistance to rural schools, including the Small, Rural School Achievement Program (SRSA) and the Rural and Low-Income School Program (RLIS).
Title V enhances local control and flexibility, allowing states and districts to use funds in ways that best meet their students' needs.
