Deaf Education/Regional Day School Program for the Deaf

Education Service Center Region 15 is the designated fiscal agent for the Regional Day School Programs for the Deaf (RDSPD). Students, birth through twenty-one (21) years of age, who have a severe hearing impairment which impairs the processing of linguistic information even with recommended amplification and which adversely affects educational performance will be considered for the RDSPD, subject to Admission/Review/Dismissal (ARD) Committee recommendations. Funds are allocated for the purpose of providing educational services to eligible students.

Services provided include:

  • Coordination of RDSPDs in cooperation with regional special education directors
  • Provision of direct instructional services, student assessments, related services, program administration, staff development, resources, materials and technology
  • Coordination of RDSPDs in cooperation with regional special education directors
  • Provision of direct instructional services, student assessments, related services, program administration, staff development, resources, materials and technology
  • Coordination with Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) programs
  • Consultative technical assistance to RDSPD staff
  • Participation in RDSPD student ARD commtitee meetings

Services to Students with Auditory Impairments

Education Service Center Region 15 provides services to local education agencies/cooperatives for students with auditory impairments who do not qualify for RDSPD.
  • Provision of staff development, resources, materials & technical assistance to school staff, students & parents including monitoring student progress if requested by ARD committee
  • Participation in ARD committee meetings
